Elite High Performance Centers has been working with some of North America's top athletes for over ten years. We have created a solid reputation as being the "go-to" trainers and therapists for many professional athletes and dancers in Canada.
Elite's Professional Dance Program is specifically designed for the busy training/lifestyle of professional dancers. Taking into consideration the aesthetics and long history of classical dance, Elite High Performance has created a program that focuses on the health, performance and balance required to excel as a dancer.
Our Professional Dance Program consists of a number of educational units that target many of the concerns that dancers face during training and performances as well as understanding how their bodies respond to these constant demands.
CLASS PROGRAMMING
Elite's class programming is designed to address and educate all levels of staff involved in the performance preparation of a professional dancer and is divided into three programming units.
| ELITE DANCE PROGRAMMING 1.0 |
| Our programming begins by addressing the artistic staff to discuss the approach that will be used with their dancers. Initial presentation will discuss the fine line existing between health and injury and how to recognize and prevent these issues without compromising work ethic and tradition. |
| This presentation reviews the following important topics: |
- Physiology briefing
- Training for dance
- Macro and micro training cycles
|
- Nutritional profiles
- Injury management
|
| Duration: 1.5 hours |
| Focus: Artistic Staff, Medical Staff and Programming Staff |
| ELITE DANCE PROGRAMMING 2.0 |
| This unit focuses on educating the dancer with an introduction to physiological principles as they relate to dance and the professional lifestyle. The presentation addresses male and female concerns separately and is meant to create a "user's guide" for the professional dancers' body. |
| This presentation reviews the following important topics: |
- Physiology briefing
- Nutritional guidelines and the dancers' body
|
- Injury management
- "Training for perfection"
|
| Duration: 1.5 hours for women, 1.0 hour for men |
| Focus: Dancers and Support Staff |
| ELITE DANCE PROGRAMMING 3.0 |
| The last component of this comprehensive program combines the theories presented on nutrition, training, injury and performance to create a convenient guide that each dancer will be able to incorporate into their individual lifestyle. This is an interactive workshop presentation that allows the dancer to digest these ideas and apply them towards their personal goals and improvement. |
| Duration: 0.5 hours in lecture format, 1.5 hours in workshop format |
